GORSE GETS HEALTHY

Strength to Strength

This year has been a fantastic year for the BIG 3 and what better way to finish it, other than in true GORSE style! What a week!

Three of our top GORSE girls were called to compete for England at the 20th Annual Global Challenge Volleyball Tournament in Pula, Croatia, from July 14–18, 2025. Please see write up from Elaine.

Facing elite U17 and U20 teams from around the world including top clubs and national programs from Slovenia, Italy, Japan, and the USA, our athletes, Krystina Ngtacha (TRGA), Liliana Kowalska (EHC) and Daniella Tchandeu (LMaS), gained invaluable international experience while proudly representing their country.

Not only were they exposed to high-level volleyball, sharpening their skills and tactical understanding by playing against faster and stronger opponents, but they also boosted their confidence on the court, enabling them to withstand pressure.

Lili says now, as they return to England, they are ready to inspire and guide their teammates to another year of fantastic volleyball. “This experience has made us more confident going into next season and prepared us to take on bigger roles within our teams.”

The tournament has provided a fantastic opportunity for England’s rising stars to test themselves against some of the best young players in the world. Congratulations to our students for their hard work, dedication, and outstanding performance on the global stage!

Our rowers have also stepped it up a gear today, for the first GORSE Boat club outing to the British Champs. I’ll send a full write up tomorrow, but all students really did us proud. A lot of you have been asking for footage, so If you would like to watch the J14 boys (with 2 x J13’s making up the crew) in the C final, please see link below (from 9.23). I’ll try and get this cut down tomorrow, and will send out with the write up.
