Karate League Results

I’m pleased to share that on the evening of May 5th, we held the final night of the Karate League. The Karate league has been a new addition to the calendar this year as we wanted to expose the students to more competition within the sparing aspect of Karate. It was a fantastic conclusion to the season, showcasing the incredible growth of our students since September. Their dedication and commitment have been evident, and the rapid development in both skill and discipline has been truly impressive. The aim is to score as many points as possible on their opponent without their opponent scoring any on themselves. The points scored by the students are cumulated across the league nights to provide the academies with a final score throughout the year. As we have seen the standard of performance continues to rise, and it’s inspiring to see the progress made over these past months. We’re proud of all participants and look forward to building on this momentum in the coming year.

Now to the results!

On the 5th of June we saw the Morley Academy claim the most points finishing in first on the final night! The Ruthe Gorse academy came in second, with The Farnley Academy in third. John Smeaton placed fourth with Boston Spa and Bruntcliffe in joint fifth. As always, the scores gained that evening were added to the running totals to provide our over places for this years karate league.

Congratulations to The Morley Academy on coming first place and winning our first Karate League season!
