We have received news that several GORSE students have been selected to represent England and compete at this year’s NEVZA competition in October!
We would like to say big congratulations to the following U17s students who will be competing in Denmark 10-12 Oct:
BA – Lauren Thorn
TFA – Emmanuel Oretoye
TRGA – Krystina Ngatcha
EHC – Liliana Kowalska, Josh Cosgrove and Maks Makowski
Additionally, two of our students have been selected for the U19s (reserves) competition in the Faroe Islands 24-26 Oct:
LMS – Daniella Tchandeu
EHC – Ben Sorley
Each year, England competes in the Northern European Volleyball Zonal Association competition against countries like Denmark, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Sweden, Finland, Greenland and Norway.
This experience will enrich our students and provide them with an unique opportunity to compete internationally.
The Leeds GORSE Volleyball programme is now producing largest number of athletes from the same club (10 players selected and 4 reserves) into the England squads and shows the strength and resilience of the programme.
Thank you, teachers and coaches, for all your continued hard work and encouragement to get the athletes to this level and GORSE for removing barriers, backing the BIG 3 and believing in our students.
