TFA’s Josh Cosgrove and Emmanuel Oretoye, along with Daniella Tchandeu and Krystina Ngatcha from TRGA, and incoming EHC student Maks Makowski earned their first England Beach Volleyball cap at this international event competing against Norway, Iceland, Scotland, Ireland, Sweden and Faroe Islands. All students were able to work with Olympic silver medallist and England Beach Director, Kirk Pittman, and gained valuable experience and insight to better their game. Maks and Josh finished 4th, Emmanuel and Dylan (Leeds) finished 7th and Daniella and Krystina finished 12th.
BBC dropped by to checkout the action and were given a top beach lesson by Farnley’s Josh Cosgrove and incoming EHC student, Maks Makowski.

As Pete is leading on our events, he went above and beyond this year to take the lead on pitching this international event to Volleyball England, liaising with East Riding Council and bringing this opportunity to our students and coaches. Comments were made by other countries that this was one of the most professionally run events they have experienced for both juniors and adults. As it was a massive success, there are plans to repeat the event at Bridlington next year.
This event also positioned GORSE as leaders for beach having six students and four coaches representing England in the competition. Other nations like Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland are very keen to work with us on a regular basis especially once our beach courts are up and running. Norway and Sweden were quite impressed to hear about how our programme at GORSE runs and would love to visit us in the future. We cannot wait for what’s to come!
