GORSE GETS HEALTHY

International VB Selection

“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.” — Pele.

We are ecstatic to announce two GORSE students have been selected to represent England at the upcoming U17 Northern European Volleyball Zonal Association (NEVZA) Tournament! Congratulations to Fola Aladese from TFA and Daniella Tchandeu from TRGA!

Daniella and Fola were both selected for the England Cadets programme last October. Daniella made her international debut at the 2022 NEVA Tournament in Berlin and is over the moon to compete in her second international competition especially with Fola by her side this year. We would like to also mention Emmanuel (TFA) who was selected as reserve in the England Cadet Boys’ team.

We are so honoured to work with these inspiring young people and are proud to have GORSE’s support in helping our student athletes transform their lives and achieve their dreams.

The tournament will be held in Jutland, Denmark between 16th and 18th October. This acts as the zonal first round qualification for the CEV U18 Volleyball European Championship 2024. Other nations invited to compete include Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. We will be sure to send links to watch live footage nearer to the competition. Please be sure to congratulate and celebrate the students’ success and wish them luck!

Additionally, Director of GORSE Volleyball, Elaine Brown, has been selected to represent England at the Confederation of European Volleyball (CEV) Coaches Convention in Sofia, Bulgaria this weekend. This event targets coaches and physical education teachers from across Europe, and additional international confederations. This initiative is an annual event to solidify the capacity building for teachers and coaches working with children at the grassroots level. We are sure she will make some great connections and represent England and GORSE well!
