Over the last week, we have seen two more sparring fixtures take place. In both of these fixtures, we saw all students show great ability, control and respect throughout the events.
On Thursday the 24th, we had Bruntcliffe Academy travelling to The Morley Academy. A standout for myself and I believe the PE staff that supported the event was Sinea, Year 8 from Bruntcliffe Academy. Sinea’s opponent was very nervous so she took the time to comfort her opponent and explained that she felt the same at her first sparring event. This truly shows what sport is all about and how we can bring students together.
Congratulations to Bruntcliffe Academy who won the event!
On Tuesday 29th , we had The Stephen Longfellow Academy travel to John Smeaton Academy. This was a huge event as it was the first Karate event that TSLA students have attended and without a doubt they did everyone proud! The respect that both groups of students displayed was fantastic.
Congratulations to John Smeaton Academy who won the event!
